Through dedicated programs, employees can access support that is relevant to them and their families. This includes a physically and emotionally safe work environment, inclusive work styles that create a sense of belonging, mental health awareness initiatives, a focus on work-life balance, volunteering opportunities, and competitive compensation and benefits.

Mohammed Tawil, Regional Managing Director and Head of Human Pharmaceuticals, Boehringer Ingelheim India, Middle East, Turkey and Africa (“IMETA”), said: “As a company that puts people first, it is paramount to develop a strong purpose in our people. An environment where everyone feels valued is vital to the way we work and supports us in attracting and retaining top talent. Winning ‘Top Employer’ awards in the UAE, Saudi Arabia and India has enabled us to further strengthen our corporate culture , and do everything in our power to continue to put the well-being and development of our employees first.”

While Boehringer Ingelheim employees are well aware of the need to take care of their physical health, the awareness and methods of taking care of their mental health properly still receive far less attention.

Mental Health

Boehringer Ingelheim is committed to fighting the stigma often experienced by people with mental illness. Tawil commented that prioritizing the mental health of employees helps them feel empowered to seek help and to be able to lean on each other for support when needed.

The Top Employers Awards are based on performance in a range of categories. Boehringer Ingelheim scored highly in business and people strategy, organization and change, purpose and values, ethics and integrity, leadership, career development, learning, and rewards and recognition.

In the IMETA region, more than 2,000 Boehringer Ingelheim employees create value through innovation with the express goal of changing the lives of generations. — trade arab news agency
