Mumbai police arrested Raj Kundera, a businessman suspected of making and broadcasting pornographic films on the Internet.
Mumbai police arrested Raj Kundra, the husband of Bollywood star Shilpa Shetty (Shilpa Shetty), for allegedly making and broadcasting pornographic films online, after the businessman was arrested for alleged match-fixing. It is forbidden to engage in cricket-related activities for six years.
The police announced the arrest of Kundera late on Monday, saying that the 45-year-old man was a “key accomplice” in a case of creating and publishing an adult film through an Internet application.
The police said in a press release: “We have sufficient evidence to prove this,” adding that the investigation is still continuing.
The arrest is the latest scandal in Kundera. Kundera and Shetty, the winner of the 2007 British reality show “Big Brother”, have two children.
In 2015, Kundera investigated the match-fixing during his co-ownership with the Shetty of the Rajasthan Royals of Rajasthan Royals, the very successful Indian Premier League team. Therefore, he was banned from participating in all cricket-related activities for life.
India has strict laws prohibiting the publication and dissemination of “obscene materials”, but it is legal to watch pornographic content in private.
According to the adult website Pornhub, this country with a population of 1.3 billion is its third largest source of traffic in 2018, after the United States and the United Kingdom.
In 2015, a government-appointed review committee prevented the pornographic film “Fifty Shades of Grey” from being shown in cinemas, even though the film was shown in a low-key version, prompting allegations of ethical regulation.
