DaBaby’s situation is not optimistic because his recent comments on the LGBTQ community and HIV/AIDS survivors on Rolling Loud continue to be strongly opposed. In the past few days, celebrities such as TS Madison, Dua Lipa, Demi Lovato and even Elton John have taken a clear stand against the rapper. Now, fast fashion retailer boohooMAN announced that they will no longer cooperate with the award-winning artist.
“BoohooMan condemns the use of homophobic language and confirms that we will no longer work with DaBaby,” the retail company said in a statement posted on its official Instagram.
In their statement on parting ways, boohooMan reiterated their support for the LGBTQ+ community and stated that they “do not tolerate any form of hate speech or discrimination.” No other detailed information about the future sales of this series of products was provided.
Soon after the news of boohooMan came out, DaBaby released a clip of his performance in which he avoided the sneakers thrown at him. He titled the post “No Weapons Formed” and then “This is how I dodge anything that disappoints me. Check my resume and sit down. #MySoulAintForSale”
As previously reported, DaBaby made controversial remarks involving the LGBTQ community and people living with HIV/AIDS during the Rolling Loud performance.
“If you don’t show HIV, AIDS, or any kind of fatal sexually transmitted disease today, it will make you die within two to three weeks, and then turn on your phone,” Dabeby said in his performance . “Ladies, if you smell like water, set your phone on fire. Guys, if you’re not a vampire in the parking lot, put your phone on a lighter.”
“Anyone affected by HIV/AIDS has the right to feel uneasy. Although I don’t intend to offend anyone, what I say is insensitive. So I am sorry. But the LGBT community…I will not be tripped by you. Right. Your business is your business.”
As of Wednesday afternoon, when searching for “DaBaby” or “boohooMAN X DaBaby” on the retailer’s official website, no results appeared.
