A crocodile farmer in Cambodia was torn apart by about 40 crocodiles after falling into a crocodile enclosure, according to police.

Luan Nam, 72, was trying to remove one of the animals from its cage when it grabbed his cane in its mouth and pulled him inside.

Other crocodiles then “swooped” and tore his body to shreds – leaving blood on the concrete fence of the farm near Siem Reap.

One of the victim’s arms was bitten off and eaten by the alligator, while the rest of his body was covered in bite marks, according to local police chief Mesa Free.

Mr Savry said: “As he was pushing the crocodile out of the nest, the crocodile attacked the stick causing him to fall into the pen.

“Then other crocodiles came up and attacked him until he died.”

Mr Nan is the president of the local crocodile farmers association.

His family reportedly urged him to stop keeping the reptile for years.
