Individuals can visit the Cherokee National Museum in October and November for their fall favorites and a day of family fun.
Throughout October, the Salt Lake Court Museum in Ross and the Sequoia Lodge Museum in Saliso will offer fall photo opportunities, kids’ crafts, and pumpkin decorating.
On Saturday, October 15, participants can celebrate the legendary statesman and inventor of the Cherokee syllabary Sequoyah at the Sequoyah Lodge Museum. From 10 am to 2 pm, guests can enjoy displays by Cherokee artists, including some for sale, free children’s crafts, traditional games and storytelling.
The Cherokee National Museum will be handing out candy to trick-or-treating visitors on Friday, October 28. Clothing is not required but encouraged.
Free fall photo opportunities and kids’ crafts will continue through November.
The Saltwater Court Museum will be hosting its inaugural Cherokee Day event on Saturday, November 12 from 10am-2pm, with violinists on the porch, artist booths selling pieces, traditional games and crafts for kids.
On Saturday, November 12th, the Cherokee Nation will host its second Saturday Artist Showcase at the Cherokee National History Museum in Tahlequah, including a loom weaving with Cherokee National Treasure Cathie Abercrombie.
