Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates: Mubadala Health partner Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi has won two major awards at the 2022 International Hospital Federation (IHF) Awards. Award categories include the Kwang Tae Kim Grand Hospital Award, the highest honor for a hospital that excels in five areas including health service quality, patient experience and staff well-being, and the Ashikaga Nikken Green Hospital Excellence Award, which recognizes those who demonstrate a commitment to the environment. Through its Sustainability Program, the hospital has made great strides in increasing treated non-potable water use by a total of 70%; reducing overall domestic water use by 32% and reducing energy use through the ECM implementation program volume decreased by 14%. In addition, since 2017, its total carbon footprint has decreased by 11.1% by 2021. In addition, the Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi recycled 21 percent of non-clinical waste, and more than 14 types of waste were diverted from landfills.
