
General Asim Munir, Chief of Army Staff (COAS), visited the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and met President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan discussed bilateral relations.
UAE President Sheikh Mohammed reportedly received the army commander-in-chief at the Qasr Al Shati Palace in Abu Dhabi.

General Asim expressed his heartfelt condolences to the President of the UAE on the death of his mother-in-law, Sheikha Maryam bint Abdullah bin Sulayem Al Falasi.
The army chief also expressed condolences on behalf of President Arif Alvi and Prime Minister Sheikh Baz Sharif, the statement added. The two sides discussed bilateral relations and ways to deepen defense cooperation “for the mutual benefit of both countries”.
Several senior officials from both countries attended the meeting.

Meanwhile, Lieutenant General Nadeem Anjum, Director General of the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), will deliver a keynote address at the upcoming Munich Security Conference. The annual security forum kicks off in the German city on February 17 with more than 45 heads of state and government and nearly 100 ministers from around the world.
