A school in Dubai will host a free Covid-19 vaccination campaign for students 12 years and older across the country and their parents.
Eligible students and parents, as well as teachers and employees of Gems Group, can receive the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine at Gems Al Barsha National School from October 17th to 18th.
The Dubai Health Authority (DHA), Dubai Youth Council and Gems Education have collaborated on this activity.
Dr. Manal Mohammad Taryam, Consultant and Chief Executive Officer of the DHA Primary Health Care Services Department said: “The UAE as a whole supports the authorities’ efforts to protect our citizens through mass vaccination campaigns, and we are pleased with this.
“We now want to ensure that the young members of our community are equally protected from the Covid-19 virus.
“No matter how old we are, we are all responsible together.”
The UAE is one of the first countries in the world to announce vaccinations for school students.
Reem AlMusabbeh, marketing coordinator and board member of the Dubai Youth Council, said: “Our school strongly supports the nationwide immunization of Covid-19 for as many people as possible. Now, the focus is on the young people of our country.”

Elmarie Venter, Chief Operating Officer of GEMS Education, said: “We are providing this opportunity to all students and their parents in the UAE, not just from GEMS. We thank the DHA and the Dubai Youth Council for their initiative in working with us and other school groups. Actions to ensure that our communities remain as safe and healthy as possible through mass vaccination campaigns and other initiatives.”
