The airline has established regulations for those who travel, commute and pass through the emirate.
Dubai’s flagship airline, Emirates, announced all regulations that must be followed by visitors to and from Dubai and through the emirate.
Tourists departing from Dubai
Passengers need to undergo the Covid19 PCR test only when required by the country they are traveling to.
As regulations change frequently, passengers are advised to check the requirements of the countries/regions they are traveling to. Covid19 PCR test or other specific types of Covid19 test designated by the destination country/region may be required before departure.
Emirates provides exclusive home or office Covid19 PCR testing rates for all passengers in the following centers:
>>Al Tadawi Medical Center
The test fee is Dh130 per person. The test fee for a home or office in Dubai is 240 dirhams per person. The test results will be provided within 24 hours.
>>All major medical centers in Dubai
The test fee is AED 150 per person. A home or office test with at least two passengers in Dubai, 240 dirhams per person. The test results will be provided within 24 hours.
Tourists going to Dubai
Depending on nationality, passengers can obtain a visa on arrival or apply for a pre-arranged visit visa to the Dubai Immigration Department before traveling.
All passengers travelling to Dubai from any place of departure (including Gulf Cooperation Council countries) must have a negative Covid19 PCR test certificate in order to be tested within 72 hours before departure, but departing from Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Indonesia, India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka Except for travelers in Lanka).
The certificate must be a polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test. Dubai does not accept other test certificates, including antibody tests and home test kits. Passengers must bring an official printed certificate in English or Arabic to check in-SMS and digital certificates are not accepted.
If verification can be performed at the originating station, PCR certificates in other languages are also acceptable.
The Covid19 PCR test certificate must be issued by an authorized agency in the passenger’s country of departure.
Travel documents that have been presented to other destinations cannot be used for re-entry even if they are still within the validity period.
For passengers from the following countries/regions, the Covid-19 PCR report must include the QR code associated with the original report for verification. The QR code must be presented at the time of check-in and presented to representatives of the Dubai Health Authority (DHA) upon arrival at Dubai Airport: Bangladesh, India, Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Sudan, Sri Lanka, Lebanon, Egypt and Ethiopia.
Passengers arriving in Dubai from the following countries/regions will need to undergo Covid19 PCR testing again when arriving at Dubai International Airport:
Afghanistan, Angola, Argentina, Bahrain, Bangladesh, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Brazil, Cambodia, Chile, Croatia, Cyprus, Djibouti, Egypt, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Georgia, Ghana, Guinea, Hungary, India, Indonesia, Iran, Iraq, Israel , Ivory Coast, Jordan, Kenya, Kuwait, Kyrgyzstan, Lebanon, Malta, Moldova, Montenegro, Morocco, Myanmar, Nepal, Oman, Pakistan, Poland, Philippines, Qatar, Rwanda, Russia, Senegal, Slovakia, Somaliland, Somalia, South Sudan, Sudan, Syria, Tajikistan, Tanzania, Tunisia, Turkey, Turkmenistan, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, Zimbabwe.
Travel through dubai
All passengers starting their journey in Afghanistan or Indonesia and transiting in Dubai must undergo a test within 48 hours before departure and obtain a negative Covid19 polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test certificate. The test certificate must contain a QR code.
Passengers transiting through Dubai from the following countries/regions must present a negative Covid-19 PCR test certificate within 72 hours before departure and comply with any requirements set by the final destination: Angola, Argentina, Bahrain, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Brazil, Cambodia, Chile, Croatia, Cyprus, Djibouti, Egypt, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Georgia, Ghana, Guinea, Hungary, Iran, Iraq, Israel, Côte d’Ivoire, Jordan, Kenya, Kuwait, Kyrgyzstan, Lebanon, Malta, Moldova, Montenegro, Morocco, Myanmar , Nepal, Oman, Poland, Philippines, Qatar, Rwanda, Russia, Senegal, Slovakia, Somaliland, Somalia, South Sudan, Sudan, Syria, Tajikistan, Tanzania, Tunisia, Turkey, Turkmenistan, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, Zimbabwe.
Passengers from all other countries/regions do not need to undergo the Covid19 PCR test when transiting in Dubai, unless their final destination requires it.
Test exemption:
UAE nationals do not need to undergo PCR testing before travelling to Dubai. They will be tested after arriving in Dubai.
Children under the age of 12 and passengers with moderate or severe disabilities are exempt from undergoing COVID19 PCR testing.
Moderate or severe disabilities include neurological disorders and intellectual or developmental disabilities.For example: acute spinal cord injury, Alzheimer’s disease, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), ataxia, autism spectrum, Bell’s palsy, brain tumor, cerebral aneurysm, cerebral palsy, Down syndrome, epilepsy and Seizures
All other passengers, including those who are visually impaired, hearing impaired or physically handicapped, must hold a negative PCR test certificate as required.
The country of origin and final destination may have specific test exemptions.
Covid19 testing laboratory:
The UAE government has designated designated laboratories. Passengers can use the laboratory recommended in the list or any trusted and certified laboratory in the country of origin for the Covid19 PCR test.
If departing from India, Pakistan, Nigeria or Bangladesh, passengers must obtain a certificate from one of the laboratories listed in the designated laboratory document before they can be accepted on the flight.
On arrival
Passengers may need to undergo another PCR test upon arrival. If taking the test at the airport, they must stay in your hotel or residence until they receive the test results.
If the test result is positive, the passenger will need to be quarantined and comply with the guidelines of the Dubai Health Authority.
