(Pope Francis accepted McCarrick’s resignation as a cardinal on July 28.) A suspect was arrested and charged with the murder of rising Florida rapper XXXTentacion.
One year ago: The nation’s youngest children had their first chance to get a COVID-19 vaccine. About 18 million children under the age of 5 were eligible, and injections were initiated at several sites. Two Florida representatives have been suspended for leaking news of the death of actor and comedian Bob Saget before his family was alerted. Clela Rorex, a former Colorado county clerk considered a pioneer of the gay rights movement because he was the first public official to issue a same-sex marriage license in 1975, died at the age of 78.
