Apart from this, Debanjali Kamstra is also a dedicated and passionate businesswoman. She is an architect whose birth roots can be traced back to Kolkata, India. Being highly skilled in Interior Design and Architecture, Debanjali started her company, Veloche Interior and Exhibition. The company offers design services in the field of exhibition and interiors. Explain the background of you and the company in detail.
I hailed from Kolkata, India, with a background in Interior Design and Architecture. However, I started my career in the UAE as a cabin crew for the country’s flag carrier over a decade ago. Wanting to put down roots here, I started my company’ Veloche Interior and Exhibition’ in 2011. Being single at that time, my company was my first baby.
Striving hard to have a reputation of professional and fast-paced service for both the field of exhibition and interiors. Designing and building functional Interior fit-out and exhibition stands that make powerful signature statements. Today Veloche Interior and Exhibition has become a key competitor in the interior fit-out industry.
Recently being a married Business woman with two beautiful daughters, I wanted to champion women’s leadership regardless of age and status. That is why I became the pioneer of Mrs. UAE World and represented the UAE on an International Platform.
With the same dedication and hard work I put into my business, I poured in this new endeavour, and I was fortunate enough to be in the top 3 amongst the 45 other equally empowered women from around the globe. Also bagged the top Award for Most Exotic National Costume international acclaim that I proudly bring back to honour the country.
What are your goals?
To make Veloche Interior and Exhibition a brand identity. Position ourselves as a unique interior fit-out company instead of just an organization.
What do you feel is the biggest strength of yourself/company right now?
Veloche’s biggest strength is our client’s trust. The trust that we instil in each and every project. Our clients know that when they put their trust in Veloche, they can expect our commitment and teamwork to make their vision a reality and deliver Quality Service. Despite the covid pandemic, wherein other companies in similar fields are still struggling to get out of, our company is cautiously expanding and growing, which is also a testament to our strength.
What was the path you/your company took to get to where you are today?
Being in a competitive market, our path was always clear, integrity. We pride ourselves in our dedication and innovation but ultimately in our honesty towards our clientele, being flexible without manipulating payment terms,
Why did you start (or want to be the head of) this company?
My passion for interior design and architecture motivated me to open up my own firm and become the head of the company and be a successful entrepreneur in UAE.
What have been the biggest challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Human resources challenge. We at Veloche Interior and Exhibition invest a lot of time and effort in training an employee, teaching them technical knowledge, ethics & ethos of our organization. Whereas competitors in this industry take full advantage of offering minor incremental remuneration, fishing out the best-trained professional from our organization and the resources gets missed in the market.

What makes you excited about Mondays?
Planning out a successful and productive week at the end of the day, even if it started out to be stressful the previous week.
What do you value most about your culture and vision?
Being born in India, a melting pot of values and cultures, my invaluable relationship with my parents takes precedence. Their wholehearted support for me in all my endeavours and continuous growth is still evident today. Finding happiness from even the smallest of successes.
Tell us about a project that forced you to be innovative and creative.
I would like to highlight the “Elie Saab” project with several successful and innovative projects on our portfolio. A retail store at Nakheel Mall is one of the UAE’s most recognized retail brand stores. I was challenged to bring a unique, eye-catching, and creative interior fit-out design. It stands among the best of the best, which is still a success to date.
What are the strategies of your company, and how do they stand unique from your competitors?
We at Veloche Interior and Exhibition take full ownership of each project. This gives us the power of being creative as the end-user and adapting flexibility in minor additions to make the project more unique and give client satisfaction at our cost.
What are the key values which helped you to overcome the roadblocks/challenges in your career? Tell us something about your memorable incident in your leadership?
One memorable incident was when I had to drive out to Al Ain from Dubai to sort out an issue with our production team at one of our sites. I was seven months pregnant with my first child. This is where my key values of Transparency, Commitment, and Persistence really helped me to keep going.
How do you see the company changing in two years, and how do you see yourself creating that change?
Expansion is the next phase for Veloche. Venturing out onto other counties, giving opportunities and employing only the most Qualified Professionals and manufacturers to be the top Interior design and fit-out company. Being the entrepreneur that I am, I am creating this by reinvesting personal profits back in the business to get global exposure in the industry.
What are the services/solutions or products offered by your company on par with the current industry standards? Tell us something about your upcoming products or services?
Veloche Interior and Exhibition are focused on providing the best design & fit-out for the interior and exhibition market. I also own “Ventura,” a company focused on B2B furniture supplies catering for hotels, restaurants, offices & warehouses.
We are expanding into London and looking forward to capturing the global market. As for UAE, we have completed projects with the government sectors implementing new smart services. We also look forward to working with them on more innovative smart projects keeping sustainability in mind.
