The Dubai Water and Electricity Authority (DEWA) has installed 15 green charging stations for electric vehicles (EV) at the Expo 2020 Dubai Pavilion: Opportunities; Sustainability and Mobility. The green charger will provide services for electric vehicle visitors to the Expo. DEWA has installed five green chargers in each exhibition hall, enough to charge 30 electric vehicles at the same time. In addition, the Expo office is currently building two charging stations.
His Excellency Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, Managing Director and CEO of DEWA, stated that the installation of 17 green charging stations at Expo 2020 Dubai is part of DEWA’s efforts to support smart leaders in hosting the best Expo in Dubai. This also supports the Smart Dubai initiative initiated by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Chief of Dubai, to make Dubai the smartest and happiest city in the world.
“As the official sustainable energy partner of Expo 2020 Dubai, DEWA has allocated 4.26 billion AEDs to use the latest smart system to support the power and water supply network infrastructure projects at the exhibition. It will also provide resources from Expo 2020 Dubai The clean energy of Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park, which is the largest single-point solar park in the world,” Al Tayer added.
DEWA has installed more than 300 green chargers in Dubai. It provides free charging services at public charging stations for non-commercial electric vehicle owners registered in the green charger service until December 31, 2021.
