Disneyland chairman aims to restore all entertainment

[ad_1]

Fans of live entertainment at Disney theme parks will be pleased with what he had to say yesterday in a discussion with Josh D’Amaro, Chairman of Disney Parks, Experiences and Products, at Disney’s Boardwalk Resort yesterday, along with other theme park and Disney fan media.

Here are the highlights of the meeting:

similar to the two of us Meet then-Disney CEO Bob ChapekAttractions Magazine was invited to a meeting with D’Amaro, but unlike our meeting with Chapek, this time it was recorded; however, we were unable to record it, so these are not direct quotes from D’Amaro, but me and Summary of questions other reporters asked D’Amaro.

D’Amaro started by talking about how, after more than 20 years at Disney, when he started working at Disneyland, he never imagined that he would end up as their president. He said someone asked him if his job was painful, and he said absolutely not.

He also said he knows how important every part of the park is to the fans. He told a story about how when he was the president of Disneyland and how they were planning to move the bush at Disneyland, he asked the actors if they knew the history of the bush before moving it (meaning they better know it Is there any kind of history) before moving it’s meaning). He said all the changes they made were to put the guest first.

He also talked about being a big fan of these parks, visiting them often and enjoying talking to the cast and guests. He said he really loves the parks and knows what they mean to people.

Will entertainment return to Disneyland?

Denice Preskitt piety MouseSteps.com Ask if there will be a return to certain entertainment like Citizens of MainStreet USA and the Red Car Trolly News Boys. While D’Amaro didn’t say whether or not these particular acts would return, he did say they wouldn’t be slowing down their return to entertainment.

He also said that he knows entertainment can make a difference and mean a lot. He talked about how he recently watched the Disneyland Philharmonic play in front of the Disneyland Castle, and seeing them meant a lot to him, so he knows that entertainment makes a theme park trip special.

D’Amaro said their goal is to bring back all of the park’s past entertainment (plus more), though he did say that not every show will necessarily return as it did before. To illustrate the return of entertainment, a Disney rep at the meeting told us that Ariel’s Grotto will reopen at the Magic Kingdom on January 22, 2023, and Enchanted Tales with Belle will reopen on February 19, 2023, Confirming our rumors about the opening of the mermaid meet and greet.

Do Genie and Genie+ really work?

I asked D’Amaro about a recent interview He said Genie was very popular. I mentioned that, based on our experience and reader feedback, it’s not great. I also asked him if he had tried it himself. He said yes, he tried it and it worked great for him and his family. He admits it’s not perfect and does make some mistakes when suggesting things to guests, but it’s always learning and getting better. He also said that it generally works well for families who don’t know much about the park.

Will park reservations and park jumping restrictions go away?

D’Amaro reiterated that the park reservation system prevents parks from being overwhelmed and provides a better visiting experience for guests, but said they are always looking for ways to make reservations easier and find better ways to handle them and parks jump.Ben Gibreitbart from Laughter Network Referring to the past, the idea is to have all the plans for the park ahead of time so you don’t have to worry when you get there, and ask if that’s still the plan given how Genie and Genie+ work, and reservations and park hopping restrictions. D’Amaro said that’s still the end goal, and they’re trying to make it a no-brainer for visitors to visit the park.

Will Disney+ Affect Theme Park Budgets?

Benji also asked whether any monetary losses from Disney+ (or other aspects of the Disney company) would affect how much they were able to spend at Disney theme parks and resorts. D’Amaro said they are not slowing down the construction of any new attractions because of the cost of the streaming service or any other reason for the company. He also said they would not be pulling back on any expansions or new attractions. He talked about how they “withdrew The curtain’ has lifted slightly at Disney’s D23 Expo, and some expansions have been announced They’ve been planning ahead, and said he visits Imagineering frequently to see all the projects they’re working on and hasn’t been held back by budgetary concerns. He noted that it’s easy to think that raising water rates at parks is to pay for Disney+, but that’s not the case. One budget does not affect other budgets.

Overall, the meeting went well and I’m glad to hear that D’Amaro is a big fan of the park. He admits they don’t always get everything right, but they are trying to right their mistakes. He also said that companies today and tomorrow need a human touch, meaning their decisions need to have face, not just company statements, and I believe they are working towards that. D’Amaro said he wishes he could sit down with all their fans and guests the same way he did us.
