DMCC boosts UAE-Poland ties through deal with KSEZ

Dubai Multi Commodities Center (DMCC) and Katowice Special Economic Zone (KSEZ) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at creating new business opportunities between the UAE and Poland.

The agreement will see DMCC and KSEZ work closely together to exchange knowledge and expertise, further connecting the business communities of both countries and supporting the growth of business and trade relations.

The MoU was signed by Ahmed Bin Sulayem, Executive Chairman and CEO of DMCC, and Dr. Janusz Michałek, Chairman of the Board of Katowice SEZ Corporation.

Bin Sulayem said: “As the bilateral relationship continues to strengthen, there is a great opportunity to deepen the relationship between Poland and Dubai. This was the core objective of our recent Made for Trade live roadshow event in Warsaw, which we will Achieved through this agreement with the Katowice Special Economic Zone. We look forward to working together in the coming years to create opportunities for Polish businesses looking to expand through Dubai.”

DMCC has played an important role in strengthening UAE-Poland business relations and currently hosts more than 40 leading Polish businesses that use the Free Zone as a hub for business and trade with countries around the world.

Michałek added: “The symbiotic partnership between DMCC and KSEZ offers companies in both business districts new ways to connect and interact with their international counterparts. Through this MoU, we are proud to be play a role in development.”

Poland is an important growth market for Dubai and DMCC businesses. For nearly a decade, the UAE has been Poland’s largest economic and trade partner in the Arab world. In the first nine months of 2022, non-oil trade between the two countries totaled $1.3 billion.

The partnership agreement comes months after Bin Sulayem and DMCC successfully concluded their first official visit to Warsaw as part of DMCC’s flagship Made for Trade Live roadshow. DMCC explores bilateral opportunities and holds discussions with various businesses and trade associations to strengthen cooperation in key areas such as technology, telecommunications and financial institutions. — trade arab news agency
