Don Lemon to return to ‘CNN This Morning’ after practice

[ad_1]

New York – Host Don Lemon will return to work on Wednesday after formal training his comments on republican presidential candidate nicki haley On “CNN This Morning,” network CEO Chris Licht said in an email to employees Monday night.

Lemon has not been on the air since Thursday, when he said Hayley, 51, was not “in her prime” during a discussion on “CNN This Morning” about the age of politicians. A woman is considered to be in her prime in her “20s, 30s, maybe 40s,” he said.

Challenged by co-host Poppy Harlow, Lemon added: “Don’t shoot the messenger, I’m just stating the truth.”

“Don and I sat down for a candid and meaningful conversation,” Lichter wrote in a memo. “He agreed to attend formal training and continue to listen and learn. We take this situation very seriously,” CNN Business Report.

Lemmon has since apologized, but he has been widely condemned, including by Lighthizer. According to The New York Times, Lichter sharply criticized Lemmon on an editorial conference call Friday, calling his comments “disturbing, unacceptable and unfair” and “significantly distracting.”

“When I make a mistake, I take responsibility,” Lemon said. “I own this too.”
