Ras Al Khaimah ushers in the new year in legendary fashion

The Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah ushered in the New Year in legendary fashion, with a mesmerizing pyrotechnic and musical display that broke two Guinness World Records. The stunning celebration featured more than 670 drones performing a dazzling 12-minute display to an electronic beat, covering 4.7 kilometers of waterfront and reaching heights of 1,100 metres. The 12-minute spectacle lights up the skies with jaw-dropping pyrotechnic displays and spectacular fireworks displays.

The New Year’s Eve celebration also broke two Guinness World Records. The first is the number of drones launched simultaneously – 600, compared to the previous world record of 458. The second is the largest aerial sentence formed by a drone.

Visit Ras Al Khaimah shared a series of pictures and videos on its official Instagram account. The video was titled “#RAKNYE2023 just broke two new Guinness World Records. Pyrotechnic music show featuring over 670 drones, nanolights, colors and shapes, all choreographed to an electric beat.”

Another post was titled “Attracting tourists from all over the world, #RAKNYE2023 The pyrotechnic music show features 600 drones, nanolights, colors and shapes, all choreographed to electronic beats. The whole journey is more than 4.7 kilometers, and the flying altitude reaches 1100 meters, breaking the previous record of 458 drones. The drone concluded with the highest-ever ‘Happy New Year 2023’ message to signify new beginnings, before seamlessly transitioning to the UAE’s iconic ‘RAKashida’ sign to connect with the destination.

Commenting on the fireworks display, Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Board CEO Laki Phillips said Press release: “Ras Al Khaimah once again proved its status as a leading tourist destination that welcomes people from all over the world. Not only did we secure two new Guinness World Record titles for our #RAKNYE2023 celebrations, but we also delivered Thousands of visitors and residents put on a New Year’s Eve show they will never forget. It is a sign that we will continue to build Ras Al Khaimah’s reputation as a must-see and it will be very exciting and busy for us A good start to the year for the 2023 destination.”

Dubai’s iconic skyscrapers The Burj Khalifa is also lit up for 2023. Celebrate New Year’s Eve with stunning landmarks lit up with a spectacular laser and fireworks display.
