DSC Approved Fitness Center Classification Criteria

For the first time, the Dubai Sports Council (DSC) has approved the criteria and indicators for the fitness center classification system.

The classification system includes 17 criteria and 82 sub-indicators, and all fitness centers are assessed by a professional and qualified team, according to a press release.

Unveiled at the Middle East Fitness Summit in October 2022, the system was well received by more than 1,000 fitness summit participants, experts from all walks of life and different nationalities.

The project is completed by the Council in cooperation with international fitness experts in accordance with international best practices in the field of fitness centers and sports medicine, with the aim of enhancing the professional level of the fitness industry and improving the service quality of Dubai Fitness Center.

Classification criteria and special indicators were used in the evaluation process, with the aim of classifying all fitness centers in Dubai according to the number of stars in the five-star category or below.

Criteria include the quality of the facility, the quality and type of equipment used, the number and qualification levels of the fitness center instructors, the percentage of students per instructor, the safety procedures used, fitness insurance, etc.facilities and trainees, and competence and experience in dealing with emergency injuries during training
