Dubai Aerocity Corporation (DACC) has announced that it has achieved a major safety milestone, with an 86% drop in the frequency of work-related injuries last year, significantly boosting the emirate’s occupational health, safety and environment (OHSE) culture.
The OHSE department also announced that 2,052 near misses were reported in 2022, a positive indication of an overall strengthening of the entity’s safety culture, the DACC statement said.
DACC is the licensing and regulatory body for Dubai South, the largest single urban master development in the emirate, focusing on the aviation and logistics ecosystem, with the world’s largest airport when fully operational, complemented by connections to air, land and Intermodal infrastructure for ocean freight.
Dubai South aims to create a vibrant living and working community by leveraging its unique aviation, logistics and real estate products and services, as well as world-class infrastructure solutions.
According to DACC, the department is focused on implementing a strong, effective and proactive OHSE governance system, including Covid-19 compliance management, to improve the key outcomes of safety performance.
Other important milestones in the last year include ISO45001/14001 SMS certification, delivery of 3,245 services, all paperless, and a successful fire safety campaign supported by DCD, involving 55 companies from DACC, helping to promote fire safety throughout the community culture, it added. –trade arab news agency
