Abu Dhabi: Dubai Airports is preparing to ensure that pilgrims heading to Saudi Arabia for the upcoming Hajj start their journeys at Dubai International Airport (DXB) smoothly, Emirates News Agency (WAM) reports.

SAUDIA, the national airline of Saudi Arabia, will operate its first Hajj flight from Dubai International Airport Terminal 1 on June 22.

Key measures Dubai Airports has taken to increase efficiency and maintain service levels during this period include dedicated check-in, passport and security check-in counters.

Special gates for Hajj trips are also arranged for Hajj flights.

Mohammad Al Marzouqi, head of the Hajj Committee at Dubai Airports, urged pilgrims to arrive four hours before their scheduled departure time to complete all formalities.

Travelers are also advised to check the validity of their travel documents, including passports, Emirates ID and Hajj permits.

“As the pilgrimage season coincides with the height of summer travel, the next few weeks will be very busy, but the team at DXB have done the necessary planning and preparation to meet and exceed our guests’ expectations. We are preparing to welcome pilgrims in a special way this year ,” said Al Marzouqi.
