It’s heading to Al Qana…
With its breezy seaside setting, it fits as well as anywhere in the capital, but Al Qana finds itself a bit like a hub of restaurants and cafés serving Mediterranean cuisine. We don’t want to be famous, but there are already Oii, Tazal, Pavo, House of Joud, Cave, Graffiti, Mado and the Rooftop Garden Lounge that serve mainly European coastal food or variations thereof.
We’re certainly not complaining. Who doesn’t love those refreshing al fresco salad lunches?pastry shop small–Lunch? Cirtrussy Seafood BBQ?
In the news, at least to DJ Khaled’s delight, “the other” is emerging in the shape and base of Terra—a concept by Outset’s Rashed Al Tayer. You might remember them from hotel portfolios like Terra Outlets in Dubai, then Boston Lane, Neighbors and CMPLX.
But what makes Terra different?
With all that Al Qana has to offer, why should we switch to the Med?
The European Feast of the Terra Eatery menu features an “open and humble approach to food and the culinary process”. You’ll also find a unique earthy (as the name suggests) aesthetic, strong botanical edging and an open “show” kitchen.
It’s slated to open sometime this May, and will be open daily from noon to midnight. Speaking about Terra’s vision, founder Rashed Al Tayer said: “Terra aims to provide upscale cuisine in a warm and inviting environment where our guests feel at home.”
“We’ve always had plans to expand, but the decision to start in Abu Dhabi came from the fact that we traveled to Dubai specifically to visit our large number of people. I hope to repay us by bringing Terra closer to home and allowing the people of Abu Dhabi to enjoy their lives support received.” @terra. eatery
