Dubai Culture, in partnership with Nikon Middle East and supported by the Sikka platform, has launched a photo contest on the theme “Shadows of Dubai”.
The initiative aims to provide a platform for emerging photography enthusiasts and professionals in the UAE to highlight their creativity, develop their talents and hone their skills, especially in the fields of photography and creative production.
The contest invites all budding photographers and anyone interested in the art of photography, aged 15 and over, to submit their previous on-camera photos for a chance to enter the competition. A professional judging panel consisting of Dubai cultural representatives, Nikon representatives and Indian photographer Dr. Mukesh Batra will select photographers to use their artistic vision to record the beauty of Dubai through the lens of the camera, and provide highlights to highlight its cityscape and charm. Inspiring photos of cultural landmarks. Nikon will provide professional cameras and tripods to selected artists for the competition.
The competition aims to attract talented photographers, give them the opportunity to hone their skills to a professional level, and reinforce the importance of photography as an impactful and creative visual art. It also fits within the framework of Dubai Culture’s efforts to strengthen Dubai’s position as a vibrant cultural and tourism destination, with ultra-modern landmarks and sights worth visiting, contributing to the emirate’s tourism industry.
Participating artists will have the opportunity to showcase their photographs in the “Shadows of Dubai” exhibition by renowned Indian photographer and founder of the Dr Batra’s® group of companies, Dr Mukesh Batra. Scheduled for summer 2023 at the Al Safa Art and Design Library, the exhibition showcases a collection of photographs taken by Dr. Batra during his discovery tour of the UAE, who has a passion for photography in addition to his career as a homeopathic doctor.
