New Dubai Electric Bus Service Rolls Out In JLT
Residents of Jumeirah Lakes Towers are getting a new way to get around the neighbourhood, as a Dubai electric bus service called JLT Link prepares to launch this month.
The service is designed to make it easier for people living and working in the community to move between clusters without relying on cars or ride-hailing apps for short trips.
JLT Link will run on two routes covering clusters from A to Z, stopping at key points across the community, including residential towers, office blocks and popular retail areas.
The use of electric buses fits into the emirate’s wider push toward cleaner, more sustainable transport options, cutting down on emissions from short local journeys that would otherwise be made by petrol-powered vehicles.
For a community as large and spread out as JLT, a dedicated shuttle service could make a real difference for residents who currently walk long distances between clusters in the summer heat, or those without easy access to a car.
It also gives visitors and office workers an easier way to reach restaurants, gyms and retail outlets scattered across the towers.
The launch adds to a string of transport upgrades introduced across Dubai this year, as authorities continue expanding public transport options in fast-growing residential and business districts beyond the traditional Metro and bus network.
