A 39-year-old Latino expatriate has been convicted by Dubai Criminal Court of managing a website containing child pornographic images and storing 4,508 images and videos, as well as 17 sexually explicit clips. The court sentenced him to a Dh20,000 fine and deportation, which was upheld by the Dubai Court of Appeal.

Dubai Police’s Cybercrime Patrol has been monitoring the site and found it to contain pornographic clips, movies and pictures – including clips of children, according to police records. They tracked down the source of the website and located and arrested the accused in Dubai. 4,508 sexually explicit images were found on the man, along with 17 video clips, about 2,621 of which contained clips of children. Through the analysis of the agreement data, it is possible to find the person who registered the website under his name.

When the defendant was arrested and interrogated, he admitted to downloading movies and clips for adult use. Four computers and a storage unit containing pornographic images showing youths under the age of 18 were found on him.
