Several passengers reported that they were unable to contact customer service representatives.

In light of the significant increase in call volume it has witnessed, Dubai-based airline Emirates issued a consulting report.

The airline said on its website: “Due to our recent resumption of some operations, our contact center is receiving a lot of calls. If your call is not related to travel in the next 48 hours, please consider calling back later.” .

On Tuesday, several passengers expressed frustration on social media that they were unable to contact airline representatives. They reported that they were put on hold for more than an hour, and then the line was disconnected.

If the query is about travel requirements, passengers are advised to refer to the dedicated page on the national airline website. “Our contact center consultants will also refer to this information,” it said.

The airline reiterated that passengers whose flights have been cancelled or suspended due to Covid19 restrictions do not need to call the center to rebook immediately.

It said: “You can simply keep your Emirates ticket, and when the flight resumes, contact us or your ticket office to make a new travel plan.”

Passengers are also encouraged to ensure that the correct contact information is provided to the airline in order to receive the latest flight updates and notifications.
