Dubai New Mall Opens Today: What to Know About The Grand

Dubai is getting a new community shopping destination today as The Grand begins its phased opening at Nad Al Sheba Gardens.

The new mall will bring shopping, dining, healthcare, wellness and everyday services closer to residents in the growing Nad Al Sheba community. The first phase opens on August 19, 2026, with more businesses expected to arrive in the coming weeks.

One of the biggest attractions is the first Waitrose & Partners supermarket in Nad Al Sheba. The opening-day lineup also includes MMI, Heart Cottage Lane, Maple Bear Nursery, Al Jaber Optical and Fixperts.

The mall will not open all of its businesses at once. A larger group of restaurants and lifestyle outlets is expected from early September. These include Tashas, Somewhere, Home Bakery, Kokoro, Blu Pizzeria, Bake My Day and Daima, along with Staywell Pharmacy and Tips & Toes.

The Grand is designed as more than a place for weekly shopping. Its operators say the destination is intended to give nearby residents a convenient place to eat, shop, access services and spend time without travelling to one of Dubai’s larger malls.

The development is also expected to expand further. Fitcode and American Hospital Dubai are planned for early 2027, adding more health and wellness services to the destination.

The opening comes as Dubai continues to add smaller community-focused retail destinations across residential areas. Several new malls and retail hubs are planned across the city during 2026, but The Grand is the first of the group scheduled to begin welcoming visitors.

For residents of Nad Al Sheba Gardens and nearby communities, today’s opening means more everyday services are now available closer to home.

The Dubai new mall is therefore expected to become a convenient local destination, with its retail, food and wellness offering continuing to grow through 2026 and into 2027.
