Dubai South and Ghana Investment Promotion Center signed a Memorandum of Understanding at Expo 2020 Dubai to accelerate economic ties and bilateral trade – Dubai Blog

Dubai South is the largest single-city main development project focusing on aviation, logistics and real estate. It has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Ghana Investment Promotion Center (GIPC), the most important investment promotion agency under the Office of the President of Ghana, to promote all-round economic cooperation , Bilateral trade and investment.

The agreement was signed by Mohsen Ahmad, Chief Executive Officer of Dubai Southern Logistics District, and Yofi Grant, Chief Executive Officer of GPIC, at the Abu Dhabi Hall, Business Connectivity Center, Expo 2020 Dubai. Executive Chairman HE Khalifa Al Zaffin was also present. The meeting was held by Dubai Air City Company.

At the brief press conference of the Dubai World Expo, some high-level representatives and speakers attended the event: Honorary Yaw Osafo-Maafo – Senior Presidential Advisor to the Office of the President, HE AlHaji Ahmed Ramadan – Ambassador of the Republic of Ghana to the UAE, Chief of the Ghana Investment Promotion Center Executive Yofi Grant and other senior officials.

Through this agreement, the two parties aim to create an attractive environment for small and medium-sized enterprises and encourage trade delegations to conduct comprehensively prepared trade delegation exchanges, including assisting commercial projects, promoting corporate networks and information exchanges between the authorities of the two countries. It is worth noting that EZDubai, an e-commerce zone located in the center of Dubai’s southern logistics zone, represented the UAE to participate in various African-UAE business activities to promote the UAE’s latest innovations, technological advancements and best service solutions and lead the industry. Regional e-commerce industry.

Mohsen Ahmad, CEO of Dubai South Logistics District, said: “We are very pleased to sign a bilateral agreement with GPIC to promote the creation of a profitable environment for the prosperity of SMEs and strengthen economic connections. Our leadership has developed an effective long-term strategy for us. Roadmap, it’s time for us as industry leaders to lay the foundation for the best results for both communities. The agreement was signed after the big event Dubai Expo 2020, which aims to pave the way for the resilience of the global economy , And achieve strong business connections.”

Yofi Grant, CEO of the Ghana Investment Promotion Center (GIPC), also said that the World Expo provides an excellent opportunity for global investors to give Ghana many opportunities outdoors. He also said: “The country’s participation in the World Expo will promote the government’s priority sectors, including; housing and construction, manufacturing, technology and digital economy, tourism and creative arts, agriculture and agricultural products processing, and health.”

Ghana has officially become “Africa’s commercial and trade center because it has the secretariat of the African Continental Free Trade Zone-known as the world’s largest free trade zone. The country ranks among the forefront of West Africa in terms of ease of doing business, providing investors with A favorable business environment, supported by solid economic fundamentals, dynamic policies and political stability.”

According to the United Nations Development Programme, the country has made significant progress in poverty reduction, making it the first country in sub-Saharan Africa to achieve the Millennium Development Goal 1, which is the ambitious goal of halving the extremely poor population.

Today, according to the Ernst & Young Africa Attractiveness Index, Ghana is not only one of the best places to do business in West Africa, it is also the most resilient economy in West Africa.

Dubai South was launched in 2006 as a Dubai government project and represents an emerging 145 square kilometer master planned city based on personal happiness. The city has been identified as Dubai’s flagship city project, which aims to create 500,000 jobs in a comprehensive economic environment that supports all types of businesses and industries.
