Dubai South, the largest single urban development project, has signed an agreement with China’s Beijing New Aerotropolis Holdings Co., Ltd. to establish a comprehensive cooperation framework.
The two entities plan to encourage mutual growth in the areas of economic development, urban land planning, job creation, training and sustainability.
The agreement was signed by Liu Zhigang, chairman of Beijing New Aerotropolis, and Mohsen Ahmad, CEO of Dubai South Logistics Zone, attended by Khalifa Al Zaffin, executive chairman of Dubai Aerocity Company and Dubai South, and Wang Youguo, secretary of the CPC Beijing Daxing District Committee.

The agreement is not limited to purely economic ties, but also includes the exchange of knowledge, information and socio-economic statistics related to the respective airport areas, in full compliance with all existing laws, regulations and local directives. The strategic alliance underscores a commitment to working together to foster cooperation between the private sector of the two countries, ultimately enhancing economic synergy between the two airport regions and jointly pioneering new international trade standards adapted to the changing digital environment.
Ahmed said: “This presents a unique opportunity to accelerate the development of our respective economies through various initiatives. These agreements are in line with our mandate in Dubai South, which is to provide the government with the opportunity to diversify the emirate’s economy and attract foreign direct investment. Contribute to the ongoing efforts of the investment. We remain firmly committed to sharing our expertise and working closely with Beijing New Aerotropolis to achieve our shared goals of mutual benefit that we promise to bring.”
Liu commented: “We are certain that our agreement with Dubai South will yield significant results as it will allow us to leverage our respective expertise in developing economic zones and urban entity development. We are delighted to be working closely with the team in Dubai South, And look forward to the prospect of exploring more avenues of cooperation in the future.”
