Dubai has maintained its top ranking since 2019 as the top destination for meetings in the Middle East and Africa (MEA) in 2023, industry-leading meetings, events and hospitality technology provider Cvent said in a new report.
Report titled “Best Meeting Destinations and Best Meeting Hotels in the Middle East and Africa”. Also included are regional rankings for North America, Europe and Asia Pacific, compiled from sourcing activity from Cvent Supplier Network (CSN), one of the world’s largest venue sourcing platforms.
“Digital transformation has revolutionized the way hospitality professionals employ technology to engage planners and enhance sales and marketing efforts to attract meetings and events to their hotel or venue,” said Graham Pope, vice president of international sales at Cvent.
“The pandemic has demonstrated the importance of meetings and events to boost local economies, and our Cvent Top Lists highlight hotels, venues and destinations that have made dramatic comebacks by capitalizing on the rapid return of in-person events. After four long years, We are excited to share these insights again and provide a resource that event organizers can use to find great hotels and destinations, as well as hospitality professionals who want to differentiate themselves to grow MICE revenue.”
As the best-performing region in the global post-pandemic tourism recovery, destinations in the Middle East and Africa have attracted many events to their cities by quickly adapting and innovating to adapt to the changing environment. The tourism board continues to invest heavily in projects with global appeal, including the restoration of historic sites and the opening of new tourist attractions to further enhance the appeal of these meeting destinations.
