Exciting new details have been revealed about the upcoming features on Dubai Beaches.
On Thursday, it was announced that Dubai’s coastline would expand by 400 percent by 2040. Residents and tourists will be able to explore 105 kilometers of public beaches – up from the current 21 kilometers, the ruler of Dubai said.
On Saturday, some details about the project were revealed. From more walkways and mangroves at Jebel Ali Beach, to new water sports at Mamzar Beach, there are many exciting features coming soon. Here’s what beachgoers can expect when the project is complete.
1. Initial stage
The first phase involves the development of Jebel Ali Beach, which will provide visitors with a unique experience. The beach space will be integrated with the nature reserve experience.
2. Activities
There will be a variety of activities on the beach for people of all ages to choose from. Beach lovers are also readily available for water sports and other recreational activities.
3. Area
The beaches will be divided into several areas, including public beaches and marine reserves, making them ideal places to relax and enjoy activities. The beaches will have different patterns, offering swimmers and tourists a variety of options.
4. Public facilities
Public amenities on the beach will include new walking and cycling paths and food trucks offering a variety of cuisines.
5. Mangroves
The beach will have a natural area where mangroves will be planted.Mangroves are important for protecting coasts from rising sea levels and storm surges, and providing critical habitat for biodiversity
6. Beach rest area
One of the most exciting new additions is the beach seating area. In a video shared by Dubai Media Office, the lounge areas look like private, self-contained cabins.
7. Al Mamzar Beach
A wide variety of water activities will be offered at Al Mamzar Beach and the Corniche. Enhanced beach events will be hosted here with space for recreational events.
