The Ministry of Economy has launched a survey to assess the effects of the UAE-India Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) one year after its implementation.
The purpose of the survey is to gather feedback and insights from individuals in the private sector such as exporters, industrialists, investors and entrepreneurs who are directly or indirectly affected by CEPA.
The six-part survey covers a wide range of potential impact areas, such as changes in trade volumes, investment flows, new partnerships and jobs, tariff rates and trade barriers, supply chain efficiency, and innovation and competition.
Survey responses will be used to measure the current impact of CEPA and to inform future reviews of the agreement by both parties.
The survey is available on the Ministry of Economy website (https://www.moec.gov.ae/web/guest/cepa) until June 15, 2023. The survey is part of the ministry’s efforts to engage the private sector in its new trade policy to promote its interests and gather feedback from the business community.
The UAE-India CEPA was signed on February 18, 2022 and entered into force on May 1, 2022. It aims to improve bilateral trade and investment between the two countries, covering a wide range of areas, including trade in goods and services, intellectual property rights, investment and dispute resolution, among others.
