Today, President Abdul Fattah el-Sisi met with Abu Dhabi Ports CEO Mohamed al-Shamishi. The meeting was attended by the UAE Ambassador to Egypt, Mariam Al-Khabi, and Prime Minister Mustafa Madbouli.
Counselor Ahmed Fahmy, Spokesman of the Presidential Palace, said that the meeting discussed the prospect of cooperation with AD Port Group, especially in the development of logistics areas and ports.
Shamis said that the group is looking forward to strengthening cooperation with Egypt, given the brotherhood between the two countries and peoples, and the unique factors that Egypt possesses, making it a regional and global logistics hub. He noted that the country has made rapid and steady progress over the past few years, especially in the expansion and modernization of its infrastructure, making it world-class in various fields, thus its ability to receive investment and support regional development in Egypt. President Sisi affirmed that Egypt highly values its strong and distinguished relationship with the UAE under the leadership of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE. The President also stressed the desire to continue productive and constructive cooperation in various fields for the benefit of the people of Egypt and the UAE.
Ahmad Al Mutawa, Head of Abu Dhabi Ports Group International, was also in attendance.
