As people get ready to enjoy the Eid al-Fitr holiday, the Dubai Traffic Police Headquarters is stepping up patrols to ensure that everything goes smoothly during this period.
Colonel Juma Salem bin Suwaidan, Acting Director of the Dubai Police Transport Directorate, stated that they will deploy 120 traffic police patrols throughout the emirate next week to improve the safety of motorists and road users.
These patrols will be deployed in the following tourist and commercial areas: Dubai Mall, Mall of the Emirates, JBR, City Walk, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Blvd, Festival City, Mirdif City Centre, La Mer, Kite Beach, Airport St, Al Seef St , Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Rd, Emirates Rd, Dubai-Al Ain Rd, Al Etihad Rd, Al Khaleej St, Al Quds St, Amman St, Academic City St, Ras Al Khor St and Jumeriah St.
“We have instructed our traffic police patrols and supervisors to step up their efforts to protect people’s lives and ensure their happiness, especially at this festive time,” said Colonel Ben Suvidan.

He added that the traffic awareness group will launch a campaign to raise motorists’ awareness of Covid-19 preventive measures.
Colonel bin Suwaidan further warned motorists to be extra careful and slow down when driving in residential and crowded areas. He added that similarly, pedestrians should be careful and can only cross the road from designated areas.
