Eid in UAE: 170 cyclists speed to Dubai’s Hatta area

Dubai: On Saturday, the second day of the Eid al-Fitr holiday, more than 170 cyclists from various backgrounds came together to fight for a cause.

Cyclists belonging to different clubs in the UAE will participate in the “Cycling Brotherhood Eid Milan Ride”.

The plan: Gather at a petrol station in Dubai, where cyclists will have a safety briefing and discuss the rules before speeding their iconic Harleys and BMWs on Dubai roads.

“We will drive through various back roads and small towns in the UAE until we reach the parking lot of Hatta Dam. Jorge Muller, an American expatriate from Mexico and Ecuador, will join a group of cyclists heading to the Hatta Dam. “I am from Abu Dhabi so my day will start around 4am. Muller said: “From riding, I look forward to enjoying the beautiful scenery with my fellow riders. No matter who we ride with or what kind of bike we ride, when we are together, we are a family.” people.”

He added: “Eid al-Fitr to me means celebrating the holy month of Ramadan and reflecting what it means to be a good person. People from all backgrounds come together to give charity and donate money to those less fortunate. It was a pleasure to be with over 125 riders on this ride together.”

Filipino architect Jason Caballero Lim, 46, said: “Riding a motorbike to Hatta with other riders is an exciting and enjoyable experience. Hatta is a popular destination for cyclists with scenic routes and Winding road, ideal for enjoying the freedom of the open road.”

Andrew Heseltine, an Australian expatriate who took part in the Hatta Dam tour, also said: “For the past three years I’ve been cycling on the roads, river valleys and deserts of the UAE. I have ridden the Munaihata road twice with other riders. The scenery surrounded by mountains always amazes and delights me. The roads are very good as they pass through winding hilly areas. Heseltine said: “A chance encounter with a local Emiratis is always a treasure, they are always very hospitable and interested in the machines we ride in. Mohan R, an Indian expatriate who will be part of a group of cyclists for Eid, said: “Every Saturday or Sunday morning, we do one thing and that is to cycle to various places in the UAE.
