EIF and Oxford Saïd will shape tomorrow’s fintech leaders


The Emirates Finance Institute (EIF) and Saïd Business School, University of Oxford, have signed an agreement to design and implement a comprehensive program to shape future technology leaders in finance.

The course – Shaping Future Technology Leaders in Financial Services – was announced at the launch of EIF’s 2023-2026 strategy, formerly known as the Emirates Institute of Banking and Finance (EIBFS).

To be launched in July (2023), it aims to provide financial services professionals with the necessary skills and knowledge to navigate the industry’s rapidly evolving technology landscape. The program will cover financial services, technology and disruption and will be delivered through a combination of face-to-face, virtual and online teaching.

Noura Alblooshi, Acting General Manager, EIF, said: “The Shaping Future Financial Services Technology Leaders program is a key step in our efforts to develop the UAE’s national workforce in the banking and finance sector and advance the Emiratisation of the sector, in line with our wise leadership. Through these initiatives , our aim is to create a strong, diverse and sustainable financial services industry in the country.”

Andrew Stephen, Professor of Marketing at L’Oréal and Associate Dean of Said at the University of Oxford, said: “We are delighted to be partnering with EIF to deliver this pioneering program which will contribute to a deeper understanding of the impact of technology on financial services. Impact.”

The program will be delivered by program directors, Oxford Seid faculty, off-site program managers and EdTech partners, and will provide a Canvas Learning Management System (LMS) for hosting materials, pre-reading and access to forums. The program will also incorporate multiple points of student assessment, with accreditation providing recognition to participants who complete modules and pass the assessment.

100 participants

The course is expected to enroll 100 students. Students who complete the full course (including Stages 1, 2 and 3) will receive an Oxford Saeed Certificate of Attendance. Participants who complete two six-week online courses will receive a certificate of recognition.

Content includes the Oxford AI Fintech and Open Banking Initiative and the Oxford Blockchain Strategic Plan, to be delivered online, and Technology, Financial Services and the Business Impact of Technology and Disruption, to be delivered live in the UAE.

Together with other modules offered by EIF, this program offers a unique opportunity for UAE nationals in the financial sector to enhance their knowledge and skills through world-class teaching. — trade arab news agency
