old enough, old enough: So Elgin is again asking for input from citizens on what to add to the city center. To Elgin, wake up! How many times have you heard it? We want to entertain! More restaurants. Why doesn’t Elgin have Irishfest, Oktoberfest, art festivals, big name entertainers at The Hemmens, a wider variety of restaurants and retail. Stop the DNA. What did they do? not many. Elgin is much more than that.
Playground Kid: Undisciplined, uncivilized members of the so-called Freedom Caucus gave Joe Biden an early Valentine’s Day gift during his State of the Union address on Tuesday. By acting like a bunch of playground kids during breaks, they’re putting their bad behavior on display in front of millions of eligible voters who watch their antics on TV. I can only imagine what honest Abe would think today if he saw his party in such disarray. Rather than worrying about our country falling apart at the seams, he might be more inclined to declare war on the Republican Party.
Pole dancers on TV: I agree with the comments about the attire worn by the news ladies, especially the traffic and weather ladies. They have to stand up to give the report and watch from head to toe. Their tight, tight skirts look downright uncomfortable. They can’t all choose to dress like pole dancers. I’m sure their boss instituted this dress code to attract male fans.
More serious consequences: More laws on gun ownership don’t seem to be the solution to today’s problems. However, current gun laws, combined with harsher consequences, may have a stronger deterrent effect on crime. The police can only catch lawbreakers, take away their guns, and prosecute criminals. It is then on the state’s attorney and the court system to impose severe penalties for the crimes committed.
His punishment was: R. Kelly already faces 30 years in federal prison. He didn’t get away with anything. He will serve his federal sentence first. Why waste taxpayer money on (more trials). He’s going to be away for a long time.
will it last? Well, Tom Brady has done it again, and he’s retired for the second time. Anyone want to bet how long this will last? I think maybe in two months he’ll come back and talk about joining another team.
Union status: In his State of the Union address, President Biden was supposed to ask the American public whether they are better off now than they were three years ago. The response will be a resounding no. Worse indeed, much worse. He certainly lied to all of us in America during the 2020 election.
