Elon Musk, the new owner of microblogging platform Twitter, has announced that verified Twitter accounts will be charged $8 per month. In a series of tweets Tuesday night, Musk said verified accounts will also receive “priority for replies, mentions and searches, the ability to post long videos and audios, and half as many ads.” Users can also bypass paywalls for “publishers willing to work with us,” he added.
Earlier, reports surfaced of a $20 fee for the Twitter Blue verification badge, and Musk has said the company needs to pay the bill.
