Batavia Will be home to Illinois’ largest movie screen, as Emagine opens in just a few weeks at the former Randall 15 Theater.
Emagine Entertainment is hosting tours of the remodeled theater on Wednesday ahead of its opening on Thursday, June 1. The tour was accompanied by President, Co-Founder and Chairman Paul Glantz and CEO Anthony LaVerde.
The former Randall 15 Theater was acquired by Emagine Entertainment in spring 2020 and has been undergoing extensive renovations since last March. The original theater was completely destroyed, and only the outer walls remained before reconstruction.
Emagine will feature two private screening rooms, eight standard auditoriums, an EMX and Super EMX for a total of 12 auditoriums.
Eight standard theaters range in size from 40 to 77 seats. The EMX Auditorium seats 184 people, while the Super EMX Hall seats approximately 394 people.
The Super EMX screen will be the largest movie screen in Illinois at 94 feet wide and 50 feet high. The auditorium required an additional 13,175 square feet of floor space and was equipped with a 4K laser projection system and 70 speakers.
Private screening rooms are available for rent for parties, movies and sporting events. Each screening room features a theater screen with 24 theater seats, as well as dining and gathering space.
All 12 Emagine theaters are equipped with stadium seating with heated leather recliners, and each theater room will have “hug chairs” that seat approximately two to four people in the front row.
The theater also has Deluxe Room Available for hire for private events. The room will feature a private bar, arcade games, billiards, video wall and four duck bowling lanes, equipped with Spark Augmented Reality Bowling.
The new lobby will feature a full-service bar with tall tables and a seating area with sofas and a fireplace. In addition to traditional theater perks, it will have a fully equipped kitchen with a pizza brick oven and an extensive food menu that can be delivered to moviegoers’ seats.
Emagine will host a grand opening event on June 1, featuring special guest James Jude Courtney, cast member of the most recent “Halloween” franchise. Guests will be able to participate in Q&A interviews and watch screenings of “Halloween.”
