Emerson signs deal with ADPoly to provide STEM career prospects

Emerson has partnered with the Abu Dhabi Institute of Technology (ADPoly) to build local talent pools and promote science, technology, engineering or mathematics (STEM) fields as viable career paths for UAE nationals.

The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed by Vidya Ramnath, president of Emerson’s Middle East and Africa Automation Solutions business, and ADPoly director Dr. Ali Hilal Al Naqbi in the presence of Shameema Parveen, co-founder of Edutech Middle East.

“One of the pillars of Emerson’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion program is to build strong partnerships with educational institutions such as ADPoly and Edutech to encourage youth and women to pursue STEM career paths. Through this partnership, we hope to empower the future of STEM Leaders provide the motivation they need to passionately pursue their chosen career path to reach their highest potential. We are fortunate to partner with ADPoly to activate this part of our program not only because of their stellar track record but also Because of our shared vision for advancing STEM careers,” Ramnath said.

The MoU highlights Emerson’s role in providing ADPoly students with opportunities such as internship and talent programs, academic and research support based on Emerson’s technical and industry expertise and career guidance.

“We believe that industry-university collaboration has the potential to truly transform technical education and teaching practices. We initiated this collaboration to develop a highly skilled workforce to enhance the UAE’s competitiveness and economic opportunities in response to rapid technological change and an increasingly intense global Compete and work towards realizing the UAE Vision 2021 and Abu Dhabi Economic Vision 2030. The partnership between Emerson and ADPoly will create a comprehensive education that satisfies the demand for a skilled local workforce and knowledgeable, dedicated and career-ready the needs of well-prepared students,” Parveen said.

The MoU is valid for two years from the date of signing and is driven by a steering committee composed of representatives from each organization to oversee the implementation of the partnership. arab trade news agency
