The Emirates Airline Foundation is a non-profit charitable organization that provides humanitarian and charitable assistance and services to children in need, and recognizes the importance of International Literacy Day with the world.
Through cooperation with non-governmental organization partners, Emirates strives to increase youth literacy rates and provide education opportunities for disadvantaged children around the world.
Sir Tim Clark, Chairman of the Emirates Aviation Foundation, Said: “Literacy and education are important cornerstones for a prosperous community and a better future. Helping disadvantaged children receive basic education is something the Foundation firmly believes. Through the generous support of customers and employees, and through various management by our NGO partners Project, the foundation has been able to help thousands of young people around the world strive for better prospects for themselves, and we hope to continue to do so in the future.”
Since its establishment in 2003, the foundation has supported more than 50 projects and non-governmental organizations around the world, including 11 organizations that primarily focus on literacy programs. Some organizations supported by the foundation include: IIMPACT Girls’ Education Project in India; Little Prince Kindergarten with Starehe Boys Center and School In Kenya and; Saint Francis of Assisi in Brazil.
- Since 2015, the Emirates Aviation Foundation has been supporting India’s IIMPACT in its mission of educating young girls. The foundation played an important role, establishing 100 new learning centers across the country and providing elementary education to approximately 3,000 girls in 11 states.
- In Kenya, the foundation proudly supports two non-governmental organizations: Little Prince Nursery and School, which provides nursery and elementary education to more than 400 poor children from the Kibera slum; and Starehe Boys Center, which provides scholarships and Help disadvantaged children receive quality education, hoping to pave the way for a better future.
- The foundation also played an important role in the distribution of meal plans for children in need at Little Prince nurseries and schools-directly contributing to the improvement of enrollment and academic performance.
- Since 2017, the foundation has provided support to Externato São Francisco de Assis in Brazil, providing learning centers and courses for more than 70 children. The foundation also donated a dozen computers to the facility and funded the school’s monthly assistance program to help pay for it.
Under the patronage of His Royal Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Said Al Maktoum, Chairman and CEO of Emirates and the Group, the Emirates Airline Foundation is an organization dedicated to changing lives and supporting some of the most valuable The organization of valued social undertakings.
