From November 2nd, Emirates and TAP Portugal will further expand the existing code-sharing arrangements, adding 23 more destinations to the partnership. This allows the total number of destinations that customers can enjoy seamless connectivity to increase to more than 90 points.
TAP Portugal will place its codes on popular Emirates flights to four other Asian destinations-Hanoi and three Japanese gateways-Narita, Osaka and Haneda, subject to government approval.
Emirates will place its code on flights operated by TAP Portugal to 19 other destinations via Lisbon. They include Belem, Brasilia, Belo Horizonte, Fortaleza, Rio de Janeiro, Sao Paulo, Maceió, Natal, Porto Alegre, Recife, El Salvador, Praia, Sao Paulo Island, San Vicente, Conakry, Ponta Delgada, Porto Santo, Terceira and Dakar.

In March, Emirates and TAP Portugal signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to expand the current code sharing partnership between the two airlines. It saw TAP Portugal add its code to Emirates flights to popular destinations in East Asia, including Taipei, Tokyo, Osaka, Mumbai, Delhi, Dhaka, Male, Jakarta, Denpasar, Manila, Hanoi as well as Barcelona and Mexico City.
At the same time, Emirates customers can enjoy seamless connections to other domestic destinations in Portugal, and TAP Portugal flies to cities in the United States, Canada, Mexico, Brazil, Senegal, Guinea-Bissau, Guinea Conakry, Morocco, Tunisia, etc. Flights, Gambia and Cape Verde.
Emirates and TAP Portugal are also exploring ways to strengthen their frequent flyer program cooperation, including reciprocal earning and redemption opportunities and popular benefits such as lounge access, and will announce details in due course.
Emirates currently has code-sharing cooperation agreements with 21 airline partners and two railway companies around the world. In addition, Emirates has signed intermodal cooperation agreements with more than 115 airlines and railway companies.
