Emirates expects a busy weekend before school – Dubai Blog

Emirates expects more than 190,000 departing and arriving passengers this weekend to pass through Terminal 3 of Dubai International Airport before the mid-school holiday. The airline’s busiest day will be Friday, October 15th, especially because many customers take off early flights, although high passenger traffic is expected to begin today and will continue until October 28th.

In addition, during the same period, more than 430,000 passengers will arrive on Emirates flights, as many passengers will travel to Dubai for vacation and Expo 2020.

Remind customers to check the latest travel requirements and entry rules of the booked destination to ensure that documents are quickly verified during check-in and arrive at the airport at least four hours before the flight to avoid delays. Emirates also encourages passengers to allow extra time on their way to Terminal 3 to avoid congestion.

Regardless of the cabin, passengers who actually check in at the airport must check in within 3 hours before departure. Passengers who show up within 60 minutes before the scheduled flight departure will not be accepted for travel. They can also check in online 48 hours to 90 minutes before the flight. Passengers who choose online check-in are reminded to go to the Emirates check-in counter at the airport to collect their boarding pass and verify the travel documents required for each destination country.

Customers are also encouraged to use convenient self-service check-in and baggage check-in kiosks, skip the line and reduce the waiting time at the counter, so as to get a more relaxed airport experience. Recently, in addition to 24 self-service check-in and baggage check-in kiosks for economy class passengers, 6 self-service check-in and baggage check-in kiosks have been added to the business class and first class check-in areas. The service is applicable to all destinations except the United States, Canada, China, India and Hong Kong, as these destinations have additional requirements.

Customers can also take advantage of Emirates’ biometric route for a non-contact journey from a specific check-in counter in Terminal 3 to the boarding gate, reducing document checks and queuing. By activating biometric and facial recognition in smart doors and tunnels, immigration procedures have also been simplified.

After checking in, passengers are also advised to ensure that they arrive at the boarding gate on time. The boarding gate is open 90 minutes before departure, boarding starts 45 minutes before departure of each flight, and closes 20 minutes before departure. If passengers report late, Emirates will not be able to accept them for travel. The check-in and gate closing time will be strictly observed to ensure that the flight departs on time.
