Emirates News Agency – 4th Abu Dhabi Ambulatory Healthcare International Congress kicks off in Abu Dhabi

ABU DHABI, 9th December, 2022 (WAM) — The 4th International Congress on Ambulatory Healthcare Abu Dhabi kicked off at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Center on Friday, 9th December and will run until 11th December. The international conference focuses on primary care and is organized by Ambulatory Healthcare Services, the medical arm of SEHA.

The conference is in line with ongoing efforts to establish Abu Dhabi as a leading healthcare destination and a platform to bring together specialists and specialists from around the world to improve the quality and outcomes of healthcare delivery in the emirate and beyond.

The conference attracted about 300 researchers and experts from home and abroad in the fields of family medicine and primary care.

Supported by the Abu Dhabi Department of Health, the Congress consists of 12 multi-specialty tracks including Family Medicine, Rural Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacy, Radiology, Allied Health, Home Nursing, Community and School Health, Patient Centered Medical Home , medical education, and health information and technology. The Congress has earned 98 DOH-approved continuing medical education hours.

Commenting on the occasion, Dr Noura Al Ghaithi, Chief Executive Officer of Ambulatory Healthcare Services (AHS) and Conference Chair, said: “We believe that primary care is the foundation of any healthcare system. That is why we work hard to continuously improve and develop our Center to meet and exceed international standards and we will continue to do so while sharing our experience with others and learning from their experience by organizing meetings like this.”

Dr Omar Al Jabri, Chief Medical Officer, AHS added: “At AHS, we use family medicine as the foundation of the healthcare we deliver to our communities. This strong foundation allows us to monitor their health, prevent diseases and detect them early .Through this Congress, we aim to encourage healthcare providers in the emirate and beyond to adopt this model by sharing our lessons learned. Dr Latifa Al Ketbi, Director of Academic Affairs at AHS, added: “This Congress reflects AHS’s commitment to the professional development of healthcare providers and enhancing their skills and capabilities. These international events provide us with the opportunity to learn about the latest guidelines and practices, This will allow us to provide the highest level of healthcare to communities in the emirate of Abu Dhabi.”

The Abu Dhabi Department of Health (DoH), the regulator of the healthcare sector in the emirate of Abu Dhabi, invites all community members to adopt its new standardized primary care model based on the family doctor concept and to play a role in improving the patient experience, quality and efficiency of care.
