DUBAI, 27th March, 2023 (WAM) — Abu Dhabi’s Department of Health, DoH, Pure Heath and its subsidiary Rafed have joined the National Domestic Value (ICV) programme, one of 50 projects in the UAE, following its A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed with the Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology (MoIAT).
The MoU was signed in the presence of Dr. Sultan bin Ahmed Al Jaber, Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology, Sarah bint Yousef Al Amiri, Minister of State for Public Education and Advanced Technology, and Mansoor Ibrahim Al Mansoori, Chairman of the Ministry of Education. Health Abu Dhabi.
Registration of these three entities in the national ICV scheme incentivizes ICV-certified companies as it increases demand for local products and services and redirects more public and private spending to the national economy. This contributes to the growth of the industrial sector and the creation of high-quality jobs.
The MoU was signed on behalf of Pure Health and Rafed by Omar Al Suwaidi, Deputy Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology, Dr. Jamal Mohammad Al Kaabi, Deputy Minister of Health, Abu Dhabi, and Farhan Malik, Pure Health CEO.
Omar Al Suwaidi said, “As part of Project 50, under the National Industrial and Advanced Technology Strategy, the National ICV Program stimulates internal entrepreneurship and innovation by strengthening integration between the Ministry, Federal and local authorities, bringing tangible benefits. Benefits for companies, including start-ups and SMEs.
“Companies participating in the national ICV program injected AED53 billion into the national economy in 2022. The program aims to empower the industrial sector, improve its performance and ensure its sustainability by increasing the domestic value of national industries and services , and redirect public and private spending into the national economy.”
He added: “We use a specific approach to empower the industrial sector, support national industry, stimulate investment, and increase the contribution of the industrial sector to GDP. In doing so, we contribute to the UAE’s goal of becoming a global industrial hub, Attract capital and invest in the industries of the future and develop industries based on technology and 4IR solutions in line with the UAE’s efforts to achieve net zero emissions for all industries by 2050. Along with other initiatives such as ‘Made in UAE’, the National ICV Program , the Technology Transformation Program and UAE Industry 4.0 play a fundamental role in supporting the growth and competitiveness of the national industry.
Under the MoU, the Abu Dhabi Department of Health, Rafed and Pure Health will collaborate to implement the program according to the standards set by MoIAT.
This partnership will support the resilience of local supply chains and incentivize national companies to forge new partnerships to manufacture high-quality and globally competitive products. It will also help to integrate supply chains, enhance self-sufficiency and increase the competitiveness of the pharmaceutical and medical supplies industries.
In response, Dr Jamal Al Kaabi said: “Under the direction of the UAE’s wise leadership, we are delighted to join the ICV initiative, which is in line with DoH’s strategy and our drive to strengthen Abu Dhabi as a premier destination for healthcare, offering investors and Entrepreneurs provide a competitive edge. The MoU is in line with the Ministry’s strategic objectives to support the UAE’s industrial sector and national economy. It aims to expand the implementation of the national ICV program to include all sectors at the federal and local levels. The National ICV Program redirects more than AED53 billion into the national economy by 2022, a 25% year-on-year increase.
