Emirates News Agency – Abu Dhabi Energy Ministry receives Israeli ambassador to discuss energy cooperation

ABU DHABI, 9th September, 2022 (WAM) — Ahmed Mohammed Belajer Al Rumaithi, Deputy Minister of Energy (DoE), received Amir Hayek, Ambassador of Israel to the UAE, to discuss areas of cooperation and development in clean and clean energy. Renewable energy between the two countries.

Ambassadors were briefed on the agency’s scope of work and areas the DOE is seeking to develop through its strategic initiatives. U.S. Department of Energy representatives presented the future prospects of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi’s hydropower sector and the growing reliance on clean energy in Abu Dhabi’s energy mix.

Delegates also showcased the emirate’s water production cycle, as well as the policy and regulatory framework for the hydrogen industry that the U.S. Department of Energy is currently developing in partnership with a number of public and private entities.

The meeting was an opportunity to review some proposals for areas of future cooperation between the sector and the relevant Israeli authorities.

Al Rumaithi said that Abu Dhabi’s energy sector has made great strides in diversifying its energy mix over the past decade, notably with the opening of the Shams 1 Concentrated Solar Plant, the opening of the Noor Abu Dhabi Solar Plant and the opening of the No. After a solar power plant was put into operation. Clean energy and water provide unlimited opportunities for cooperation between the two countries to help them achieve a carbon-neutral future.

Hayek stressed that the State of Israel looks forward to strengthening cooperation with the UAE in various fields, noting that the energy sector is one of the most important sectors where the two countries can contribute to combating climate change, ensuring energy supply and reducing energy supply.
