Emirates News Agency – Abu Dhabi International Hunting and Equestrian Exhibition launches dedicated heritage, art competition

ABU DHABI, 6th July, 2022 (WAM) — The Abu Dhabi International Hunting and Equestrian Exhibition (ADIHEX) has announced the opening of admissions for its professional heritage, arts and culture competition.

The competitions consist of 25 categories and sections, and the deadline for entries is August 31, 2022. 43 prizes have been allocated for the competition.

The upcoming 19th ADIHEX will be organised by the Emirates Falcon Club from 26th September to 2nd October 2022 and will be organised by the Abu Dhabi Environment Agency, the International Hobara Conservation Foundation and Abu Dhabi Nation, where the event will be held Exhibition Center Sponsored Hold. The “Shotgun” section is sponsored by Caracal International LLC, the visitor experience partner is POLARIS – Specialized Sports Equipment, and the featured sponsors are Smart Design and the Royal Tent Company. The official car partner is Emirates, while the supporting partner is the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

“Sustainability & Heritage.. A Reborn Aspiration” was chosen as the theme for this edition, reflecting Abu Dhabi and the world’s efforts to improve the sustainability of the environment, hunting, heritage sports and related businesses. It also highlights development activities based on the success of past editions in Wish Reborn and allows for a comprehensive strategy for more events and features.

The entry conditions and criteria for the competition will be announced through the ADIHEX electronic platform and social media in the coming period. These include the best inventions in falconry and hunting, the best vehicle for hunting trips, the most beautiful captive falcons, and a competition for the best display platform/stand in each of the exhibit’s 11 sections, with the exception of the Arabian Saluki (Hoss (smooth)/Aryash (feather) – male/female) beauty pageant.

The competition also includes a contest for the most beautiful photo reflecting the theme of “Sustainability and Heritage.. A Desire for Rebirth” and a contest for the best video clip at ADIHEX 2022.

In addition, ADIHEX also launched the Most Beautiful/Best Falcon Turban (burqaa) competition, as well as the Best Artifact Model in the Arts and Crafts section, which helped to highlight the beauty of the ancient heritage of the UAE and enhance its publicity efforts. The importance of protecting handicrafts and the sustainability of traditional industries.

To raise awareness of the pillars of heritage, the public will be introduced to a number of heritage activities including popular games for children, on-site heritage workshops (Al-Sadu, Al-Tali, Al-Khous, pottery and glass), as well as showcases of ancient UAE traditions House models such as Bait Al Bahar (Ocean House), Bait Al Shaar (Hair House) and traditional handicrafts (made from palm leaves). This is in addition to organizing a bunch of interesting features in the arena.

Majid Ali Al Mansouri, Chairman of the Exhibition’s Senior Organizing Committee and Secretary General of the Emirates Falcon Club, stressed that these unique competitions aim to strengthen efforts to preserve heritage and authentic traditions, protect the environment and sustainable hunting. They engage a new generation to support these efforts and encourage the creativity of young people from different countries.

Abu Dhabi International Hunting and Equestrian Exhibition consists of 11 different sectors: Arts and Crafts, Equestrian, Falconry, Hunting Tourism and Safari, Hunting and Camping Equipment, Shotguns, Conservation of the Environment and Cultural Heritage, Outdoor Recreational Vehicles and Equipment, Veterinary products and services, fishing equipment and marine sports, and media.

Falcon and camel auctions, equestrian shows, archery, birds of prey, best falconry contests, Saluki beauty pageants and live heritage shows are among the most prominent events set up for 2021. Representing professional companies in a wide range of 680 brands from 44 countries, covering an area of ​​50,000 square meters. More than 105,000 visitors from 120 countries attended the event that year.
