ABU DHABI, 5th May, 2023 (WAM) — His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, has highlighted the role of the UAE Armed Forces in safeguarding national achievements and Critical role in terms of threats.
In a statement published by Nation Shield magazine marking the 47th Armed Forces Unity Day, he commended the tenacity and bravery of the Armed Forces and their soldiers who acted as goodwill ambassadors to aid allies facing various challenges.
On the occasion, the Minister of Foreign Affairs extended greetings and congratulations to His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and his Deputy, His Highness Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of the UAE.
The UAE Armed Forces were unified on May 6, 1976, which Sheikh Abdullah said was a milestone in building a secure, stable and prosperous country, adding that the Armed Forces are the protectors of the country’s prosperous future.
HH Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan stressed that the UAE considers peace to be a strategic decision, which its armed forces protect. “Peace is the way to help communities achieve their aspirations for progress and prosperity. Our country is committed to this approach and supports all efforts to establish peace and stability in the region and the world,” he added.
“On this glorious occasion, we proudly commemorate the sacrifices of the Emirati martyrs who sacrificed their lives to defend their country and protect its achievements, emphasizing their noble humanitarian mission to achieve global peace and development. We also pay tribute to the heroic achievements and good Salute to the families of martyrs who are role models of citizens,” Sheikh Abdullah said affirmatively.
He went on to say that the military and the defense industry have become the cornerstone of our country’s economic growth and underpin the development strategy of the industrial sector.
Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed concluded by expressing his appreciation and gratitude to all Armed Forces recruits.
