ZURICH, 14th March, 2023 (WAM) — The FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup will take place after Dubai was named host of next year’s competition by the FIFA Council at its 21st FIFA Council meeting in Doha, Qatar. Back to the United Arab Emirates, today.
In addition, Seychelles will host the FIFA Championship for the first time in three years, and the FIFA Council has also awarded the right to host the 2025 FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup at the Middle East Conference.
Dubai hosted the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup in 2009, returning to the Arab world for the 12th time in 14 years.
Subsequently, the 13th FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup will land in Africa for the first time. The FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup will be hosted by countries across the confederations for 20 years, with Seychelles winning the bid to host the event. Since the first tournament held in Brazil in 2005.
In 2025, the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup will take place in Victoria, Mahe, surrounded by crystal clear waters and coral reefs.
Following today’s FIFA Council meeting in Qatar, FIFA Director of Events Jaime Yarza congratulated Dubai and Seychelles on their appointment as hosts for the next two FIFA Beach Soccer World Cups.
“It’s a very exciting time for beach soccer, as this is the first time FIFA has designated a host country for two events at the same time,” Yalza said.
“We are delighted to be back in the UAE, where in 2009 FIFA hosted one of the best beach soccer tournaments in history.
“Meanwhile, Seychelles will host the inaugural FIFA Championship in 2025, which will complete the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup circuit in all six federations.
“The final FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup in 2021 was watched by 63 million viewers around the world, averaging over 2.2 million viewers per match. This is a huge increase from the previous edition in 2019, so we I believe that in 2023 and 2025, people’s attention and enthusiasm for beach soccer will increase again.”
FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup Committed Goals – In 2021, the tournament will average 9.4 goals per game, the highest rate per game of any FIFA competition in history.
