ABU DHABI, 2nd January, 2023 (WAM) — Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President, ADNEC Group will host the 16th International The Defense Exhibition (IDEX 2023) and the 7th Naval Defense Exhibition (NAVDEX 2023), will be held from February 20-24, 2023.

The events, jointly organized by ADNEC Group and the Ministry of Defense at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Center, aim to showcase various new features and attract key players and exhibitors from the international defense industry.

The upcoming IDEX marks the event’s 30th edition, and together with NAVDEX, these events have become the largest of their kind in the world. These events are expected to attract high caliber participation, including leaders, policy makers, ministers and senior officials, as well as industry experts and professionals from around the world.

As part of the week of events, ADNEC will host, for the first time, a series of high-level roundtable discussions with renowned industry thought leaders and commentators. These leading industry experts will come together to discuss recent and critical topics surrounding the defense and naval industries and collaborate on key industry reports with results-based objectives.

IDEX and NAVDEX will launch IDEX Next_Gen, a space dedicated to start-ups where entrepreneurs can showcase their solutions and technologies in defense and navy to industry leaders. The events will also launch the Innovation Road, an exhibition-focused journey that highlights the latest products and innovations from the world’s leading brands for the defense and naval community. As part of this curated journey, exhibitors will be able to submit their latest and most innovative products and solutions for selection, which will attract the interest of thousands of international and local buyers.

In terms of content, as a first of its kind, IDEX and NAVDEX will each have dedicated free theaters for attendees to learn about the latest key industry topics. NAVDEX Talks, located in the brand new Dock Hall, will focus on the naval defense industry, while IDEX Talks will include sessions covering a variety of fascinating topics relevant to the global defense sector. These topics include: Women and Defense Youth, Defense Heroes and Inspirational Masterclasses.

The events will also provide an area for defense history buffs. “Defense Through the Decades” will showcase interactive gallery-style highlights of the industry’s products and technologies from the past 30 years.

IDEX and NAVDEX provide a leading global platform to showcase the latest international defense innovations and technologies, as well as the most advanced technologies and equipment developed by the defense industry around the world. The previous editions of the show in 2021 were a huge success, hosting over 62,000 visitors and over 900 local, regional and international companies from 59 countries in addition to hosting 35 national pavilions.
