ABU DHABI, 10th May, 2023 (WAM) — His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Mohamed bin Zayed, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council, attended the The inaugural UAE Climate Technology Forum was held.
During his visit, Sheikh Khaled toured the exhibition and met local and international companies offering groundbreaking solutions that are driving net zero efforts across the globe.
He also visited areas dedicated to decarbonisation, alternative energies, innovation, sustainable production, artificial intelligence and digitalisation.
Sheikh Khalid was accompanied by Dr. Sultan bin Ahmed Al Jaber, Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology and Chairman-designate of COP28, Mohammed Ahmed Al Bowardi, Minister of State for Defense Affairs, and Sarah Al Amiri, Minister of State for Public Education and Advanced Technology.
The UAE Climate Technology Conference, which runs until May 11 during the Year of Sustainable Development and ahead of the 28th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP28) in November 2023, aims to accelerate efforts to decarbonise at scale and Take climate action while promoting socio-economic growth.
Organized by the Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology (MoIAT), in partnership with the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) and the Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company (Masdar), the forum celebrates the country’s leadership in climate leadership and practical and advanced climate solutions. Building on the traditions of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), policy makers, CEOs, experts, academics, technology leaders, pioneers and investors push forward to 2030 Momentum to reduce global emissions by at least 43%.
