ABU DHABI, 6th July, 2023 (WAM) — His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Courts, has issued a resolution allowing Citizens apply for any Nafis programs and initiatives working in public benefit associations and private higher education institutions.
The resolution complies with applicable guidelines and standards and requires the relevant person to be registered with one of the active pension funds in the country.
The resolution also includes amendments to certain provisions of the conditions for benefiting from the Temporary Support Scheme, a financial assistance scheme within Nafis to assist citizens who are unemployed in the private sector and have no source of income due to circumstances beyond their control.
Ghannam Al Mazrouei, Secretary-General of the Emirates Talent Competitiveness Council (ETCC), said that under the decision, these citizens are now entitled to benefit simultaneously from any economic and social assistance programs offered by the UAE, whether For yourself, your spouse or your children. Federal or local authorities, can now benefit from temporary support schemes, subject to applicable conditions and regulations.
Prior to this decision, the eligibility criteria did not include beneficiaries of any financial social assistance program, regardless of the value of the assistance, except for unemployment insurance compensation, while those who met certain criteria were entitled to the Temporary Support Program. Al Mazrouei added that there are conditions and regulations regarding the value of benefits to be followed.
